ILUNION Reciclados is a new project from ILUNION, the business division of ONCE and its Foundation. This is an innovative waste treatment plant of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). This company was founded with the objective of preserving our environment through advanced technological tools. Located in La Bañeza (León), the plant of ILUNION Reciclados represents a milestone in the effort for the preservation of the environment and it boosts production and economic development for this region of León (Spain). ILUNION Reciclados is also a CEE (Special Employment Facility) in order to facilitate the integration of people with disabilities in its workforce. Currently, ILUNION Reciclados employs 55 people of which 90% are people with disabilities, and expects, in the near future, to reach 80 people on staff. The company also holds the jewelry brand Pic&Chip (www.picandchip.com), which designs, elaborates and commercializes products made out of recycling elements obtained from the WEEE recycling processes and entirely handmade by disabled people. This is a project of great social, environmental and economic interest.
