EERA members together with their supply chain of collectors, transporters, sorters, and >10,000 facility workers, are pleased to report that working with the producer schemes and other business clients we processed >2 million tonnes of officially collected WEEE .

Electronic waste (WEEE) is the fastest growing waste stream in the world with predictions of >100 million tonnes by 2030.

In 2020 the total amount of WEEE arising in Europe was reported in Eurostat and through data collection projects initiated by the WEEE Forum as being ±9.6 million tonnes, of which 3,5 million tonnes was officially collected through producer take-back schemes and treated in compliance with legislation. Other routes for WEEE were anticipated as being through metal scrap routes, exports for re-use and illegal scavenging etc.
